Etymology. The word penguin came from the Welsh words pen (meaning head) and gwyn (meaning white). But there’s debate on whether it also came from the Latin word ‘pinguis‘ (later on evolved to the French word ‘pingouin’ and German word ‘pinguin‘) which means fat. Penguins are called manchot in French.

Fun Fact. Penguins are only found on the Southern Hemisphere. So Santa Claus does not know penguins. Only polar bear.

Largest Penguin. Found in Antartica, which is the Emperor Penguin
