On Manta Rays, Seven Minutes and Such

I have my phone back. It has a charger already and I’d be using it more frequently – I hope. I’m not so good at keeping cellphones since I have a tendency to be paranoid about it. And lose it due to my paranoia. I just finished reading The Eleven Minutes by Paolo Coelho. And it is a marvelous read. It talks on details on sex, love, passion, pleasure, pain and things I wouldn’t have known if I didn’t get my hands on this book. Of course, Maria got her happily ever after. And if you read the Afterword, you could see that this was based on a real girl named Maria who was a prostitute and is now happy with two kids and his wonderful husband.

Artist are peculiar lovers. But since my best friend has been in a relationship with an artist herself, I have a perspective on how they show their unusual and undying love. I have seen also the same kind of love in the eyes of my best friend. I know they’ve been together for quite some time. And most artist are in a relationship because it fuels their passion for art. My best friend doesn’t call her relationship love but art. It’s the art of making love. And I won’t go into details. But everything they feel, experience and know through instances are reflected, duplicated and created in their paintings. Truly masterpiece.

Since I have been scouting books for my reading needs, my mom joined the search. She knows I buy hardbound IF and ONLY IF, I have been anticipating the books for years such as Gossip Girl’s Prequel and Sisterhood’s Forever in Blue. But if it’s a newly discovered read, I prefer to wait for the Trade or the Mass Paperback. Since I’ve mentioned in the past that Brida has been phased out (Paperback) in all bookstores I am loyal too. My mom saw that National Bookstore has been stocking up on the Trade PaperBack. Since my mom knows how books could fly by fast, she bought it immediately and texted me as soon as she got it.

There’s this featured article on National Geographic about the Giant Manta Ray. Actually it still doesn’t have a name since it’s another distinct species that have been known to have larger migration patterns unlike its smaller cousins which live in Coral and Beach Areas. Now, the lead researcher is launching a Conservation Movement to protect this species. Development in its natural habitat has been said to wipe out the species within one to two years. Thus, they have gather all experts on the field with their first Manta Ray Specialist convention. And it really is big. With 6″2 feet wingspan at birth and almost 17″ feet wingspan at fully matured. Waah. So big. Read more here: New Species [1][2] In Captivity [+]

And there is also a snake as small as a coin. Or at least it could curl up within the coin. Isn’t cute? It’s been known to be under the thread snakes and could be mistaken for earthworms. But it isn’t! It’s a snake! Read more here [+]

The Smallest Snake!

The Smallest Snake!

Pardon me for loads of information about National Geographic’s Articles. Despite the fact we don’t have National Geographic on cable, for some absurd reason, I tune in to its Online Website everyday. It’s a habit. More like reading Yahoo! News everyday. I always make it a point to keep myself update with the Scientific, Traveling and Adventurous community. Because someday you’ll be able to read of me in their featured article ;) I’ll make that come true. And guess what’s the topic I’d cover. :)

Anyways, tomorrow is another enrollment day for Irregular students of De La Salle University which includes me. I’d be catching up on the curriculum and be leaving my electives for some other time. I still don’t know. If I pass MICPRC1 then I’d shift to CSE. It’s hard thinking about a Networking thesis. How could people do it? And they say that Tool Development is the real pain in the ass of our course. I was also stupid enough to ask why we don’t have NLAN-NE only to realize that SHIT. That’s my course!

So yeah. Here I am ranting once more. I should better get some shut eye since I need to go early to school for Philosophy Class and Microprocessors. And yeah SOCTEC2. :|
