A Random Post on Love

everytime i am bored, i usually stumble on anything i find in the online community and interact with it. this includes filling up surveys, getting tagged and reading random blog posts from anyone and everyone. i am continually blog-hopping, account-hopping and multiply-hopping.

since today, i have joined three blog communities – blogpoint, blog explosion and blogorama. i have listed my blog on their directory to hopefully get other visitors. but i am getting a bit sidetracked on what this blog is all about.

love.

LOVE.

in my language it can be translated to umiibig, minamahal, sinisinta at iniirog. the words i have just uttered all mean the same thing in english — love. when looked closely, these terms of ‘love’ hide the meaning and the intention of the speaker. the essence of love is derived from the core. and yes, i shall ellaborate more in english.

pag-ibig. ibig sabihin. iniibig. when looked closely, this translation of love meant the desire of the object and the meaning of the object. either the beholder has found the meaning or is continually seeking. pag-ibig translates to the continual desire or the passion to strive for something other than himself. it is when you look beyond yourself or outside the box to give meaning to your life.

pagmamahal. minamahal. mamahalin. at the core of this word is mahal which in other terms is value. a high value. love in this essence means the person treasures, cherishes, celebrates and even takes for granted. it is when the object of affection is determined by the value the beholder gives it. you are worth of how you are loved, of how much attention is given, of how you are valued.

sinisita. pagsinta. sinta. a provincial term usually used during courtship. sinta is the desire to please. it is when you lift the object higher than most, when you believe that it is without flaw and when you know in yourself that it is the best thing that you could ever have. it is almost a form of worship either in character, beauty or essence. love in this terms are usually shallow and easily broken. it is the kind of love that leaves the person empty, bitter and vain.

iniirog. irog. pag-irog. another term used in the rural areas often referring to both person committed within the relationship. it is the kind of love which knows respect, boundaries and acceptance. it is when people fight, forget their pride and forgive. fight, forget and forgive. this kind of love is usually founded on friendship, trust or open-minded admirance. yet when the trust is broken too many times, this love is tainted and shall not be the same love it was before.

love is limitless, boundless and can not be contain by the capacity of man. you can feel love for the unseen and even for those you can not feel. love is not a feeling. it is not just felt. but it is not just assurance. love is very paradoxial yet simple. it is full of irony but straight with meaning. i can write a million things about what love is not or what love could be. but i can not really constraint love into a determined meaning. love for you may not be the love for me. it is both and not noun and verb yet determined by how you use it, see it and make it.

i can never really explain love except that it is love. love is love. and love is what makes us human and divine at the same time.

love has indeed tons of vantage points. there are words inclined to love that can be used every now and then. no matter what you call it, it all comes down to one word- love. it is upon us to put meaning to it, to differ the norm. love itself is vague but love is simply meant to be like that, to let us to seek and discover what it is all about. love is the good word that’s been keeping the world alive.
